When we award a student discount or exemption, it remains on your account until the course end date we have recorded.
When your course finishes:
- Your discount or exemption will normally end
- We will recalculate your account balance
- A revised bill may be issued
- Your instalments may increase for the remainder of the financial year.
If your course ends during the financial year (1 April to 31 March), it is normal to receive a Council Tax bill when your discount or exemption ends. Because the outstanding balance must be paid by March, you may have fewer monthly instalments available. This means your monthly payments could be higher than expected.
Please plan for any future payments that may become due.
