What you need to do if your circumstances have changed

You must tell us within 21 days if:

• You leave your course
• You suspend or withdraw from your studies
• Your circumstance change and you may no longer qualify
• Another adult moves into or out of your property
• You move home.

To tell us about anyone moving in or out of your property you need to complete our form here.

Failure to notify us may result in an incorrect Council Tax bill and could lead to a penalty.

Please have the following information available:

• Name of the person responsible for the Council Tax bill
• Property address
• Council Tax account number
• Names of the person(s) who are no longer students
• Date the person(s) stopped being a student
• Names of all adults aged 18 or over living at the property.

Completing the form for more than one person

If you are cancelling a student disregard for more than one student at the same address, you do not need to complete a separate form for each person.

To add another student, please select an additional option from the list, such as School Leaver, Apprentice, or Trainee. These sections collect the same information and will allow you to include details for more than one student within a single submission.
