If you receive a reminder, bring your payments up to date, and then miss another instalment, we will issue a second reminder notice. We can only issue two statutory reminders per financial year, so it’s important to keep payments up to date after this point.
If you do not pay or set up a payment arrangement within 7 days:
- You will lose your right to pay by instalments
- The full balance will become due
- A Magistrate Court Summons will be issued, the £70 summons costs and an additional £25 if a Liability Order is granted are payable by you.
If you cannot pay the arrears within 7 days, you can set up a payment arrangement.
You will need:
- Your Council Tax reference; this can be found in the 'ACCOUNT NO.' box at the top of your bill or reminder notice.
- Your bank account details if setting up a direct debit
- The total balance outstanding (not just the missed instalment).
