Reminder notice

If you do not pay an instalment on time, we will send you a reminder notice.

This will show:

  • How much is overdue
  • The date you must pay by (within 7 days) to keep paying by instalments.

If you do not pay the overdue amount or set up a payment arrangement within 7 days:

  • You will lose the right to pay by instalments
  • The full balance for the financial year will become due
  • A Magistrate Court Summons will be issued, the £70 summons costs and an additional £25 if a Liability Order is granted are payable by you.

If you cannot pay the arrears within 7 days, you can set up a payment arrangement.

You will need:

  • Your Council Tax reference; this can be found in the 'ACCOUNT NO.' box at the top of your bill or reminder notice.
  • Your bank account details (if setting up a Direct Debit)
  • The total balance outstanding (not just the missed instalment)
