The Mayor of Knowsley

Each year, the elected members of the council choose a mayor for the coming year. The Mayor represents Knowsley at public events and ceremonies as well as civic events in other towns, cities and countries.

2026 to 27: Councillor Edna Finneran

Councillor Edna Finneran is the Mayor of Knowsley for 2026/27. Born in Everton, she is the youngest of eleven children and was a pupil at Friary Catholic School.

Edna has lived in Knowsley since 1962 and has two children and two young grandchildren.
