What kind of training/qualification courses will be supported?
The following Training/Qualification courses are provided as examples of applications that will be supported. However, we expect providers to identify the appropriate training/qualifications and the respective training providers to meet their needs and that of the young people they support :-
- Youth Work courses such as Level 1, 2, 3 or 6
- Qualification and Continued Professional Development courses focused on working with care-experienced young people (11-25) around topics such as:
- Mental Health
- Sexual Health
- Participation
- Body Image and Eating Disorders
- LGBTQ+ awareness
- SEND courses such as:
- Understanding of SEND, Autism, ADHD, Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, Asperger Syndrome, etc.
- Communication, i.e. Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), British Sign Language (BSL), Makaton, etc
- De-escalation and Behaviour Support training i.e. Team Teach
- Sensory Processing Needs i.e. (Sensory Needs Practitioner Training (Online Accredited)
- Deaf/Visual Impairment Awareness
- The objectives of the Workforce Development Fund should:
- Align with the Knowsley Council Plan priorities.
- Support organisations working to improve the lives of children and young people, including disabled children and their families in Knowsley.
- Provide a range of positive and engaging activities that meet the needs and wishes of children and young people across Knowsley.
- Support residents to thrive and support people to overcome inequality and strengthen community cohesion.
- Demonstrate measurable outcomes and/or value for money.
