What happens next?

Completed applications will be reviewed for eligibility.  During this time, you may be contacted via the online portal messaging function for more information after applying. In this instance, contact will be attempted twice only. Failure to respond within timescale will result in the application not progressing to Panel.

The Panel

After a period of due diligence, applications will be presented to a Panel of representatives from the Council delivering on the Knowsley Local Youth Transformation project. Recommendations will then be made to the Councils Interim Executive Director (Childrens) in light of the Fund’s criteria and the budget available.

Confirmation of funding

Once support for the funding has been approved, Knowsley Council will send confirmation of the grant award to the successful organisation, and the training/qualification course can commence. All payments will be made via the relevant organisation’s bank account.

All recipient organisations will be required to formally sign terms and conditions in relation to the allocation of funding at the beginning of the application process.  This process is in place to ensure that public funds are protected. The Council expects decisions to be made within approximately 2-3 weeks on a rolling basis until the final application deadline.

Evaluation

Successful applicants will need to demonstrate how the fund has contributed to positive outcomes for young people and explain what tools and methods have been used to gather that information.  An End of Grant Monitoring Form will be provided, and grant recipients are expected to collect data on the completion progress of the training/qualification courses and how this has impacted their beneficiaries, including sharing feedback, and providing a short case study to ensure that the positive impacts against each priority can be recorded, shared, and celebrated.

This form will record:

Confirmation that all funding has been spent in accordance with the agreed funding approval (evidence should be made available for inspection by the Council).  Progress of the training/qualification course compared to the approved grant. The number of beneficiaries involved in the grant.

Overall, the form will evaluate the impact the fund has had on achieving positive outcomes for young people.  It will explain how objectives were met and will request a robust evaluation of the project.  The End of Grant Monitoring Form will evidence the training/qualification courses completed and will link closely to the Fund's criteria, aims, and objectives.
