Introduction
A freedom of information request is when an individual asks for information from a public body such as the council. The information will be shared unless there is a legal reason not to, or gathering the information will be very time-consuming.
A Freedom of Information request should not be confused with Subject Access Request (SAR), which gives an individual the right of access to copies of their own personal data. SARs are governed by the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR). Further information about SARs, including information about how to make a request, is available on the Knowsley Council SAR webpage, which can be accessed here.
