Making a change to your in-year application

Change of school preference/s

If you wish to make a change to your school preference (s) after submitting a secondary in-year application, you can create a ‘new’ application via the application portal.

Please note: If your child is on a waiting list for a school/s you have already applied for, and you wish them to remain on the waiting list, you must rename that school/s as a higher preference than any new school you now wish to apply to.

For primary in-year applications, you can make additional applications to individual schools, or withdraw applications already submitted, by contacting the schools directly.

Other changes of circumstances

It is the responsibility of the applicant to ensure the information on the application is correct. If a change takes place after submitting a secondary in-year application, you should notify the school admissions service by email without delay, as this may affect how the application is considered.

For primary in-year applications, you should inform the individual school of any change of circumstance after the application has been submitted.

If the change is in relation to information provided on a supplementary information form (SIF), you should contact the individual school directly to discuss making a change to the form – more information about SIFs can be found here.

A place may be withdrawn if it has been offered based on information on the application that is incorrect and to the disadvantage of another child.

If you are unsure what is a relevant change is, contact Knowsley School Admissions Service for advice by emailing schooladmissions@knowsley.gov.uk
