Crisis and Resilience Fund

The Crisis and Resilience Fund is funded by the Government to help vulnerable households. Find out how it will be used.

The Government has allocated £11.276m over the next three years to Knowsley Council through its new Crisis and Resilience Fund to help communities in need.

Around £3.7m will be available each year and the programme comprises four strands:-

  • Crisis Payment: Providing support to those in crisis.
  • Housing Payment: Providing financial support towards housing needs, to those who face a shortfall in meeting their housing costs.
  • Resilience Services: Funding for services delivered by authorities or external providers to improve financial resilience. This will include funding to community food partners, debt and welfare advice, support to ‘at risk’ residents identified through Adult and Children’s Social Care Services, Council Tax Reduction Scheme, fuel and energy support and employment and skills support.
  • Community Co-ordination: Investment in activities that connect and enhance the local support landscape.

This page will be updated as more information becomes available.

Where to apply

Help with energy costs

The Council’s Emergency Support Scheme can help those on a prepayment energy meter, where the meter is about to run out, and there are no means to top it up. Apply online via fuel applications.

Help with furniture/white goods

The scheme can also support residents where furniture/white goods can help them settle back into the community or avoid institutional care. Apply via furniture applications.

Help with housing costs

If you are in receipt of Universal Credit or Housing Benefit and have a shortfall in meeting your housing costs, you may be eligible for a ‘Housing Payment’. For further details and to apply, visit Housing Payments.
