Why do you need my information?

1. Knowsley Online Directory

We need this information to list your organisation in the Knowsley online directory. This will help residents find your service and allow resident in the Knowsley brough to be signposted to your service.

2. Stronger Communities Newsletter

To enable the stronger communities’ team to send you updates about local news, funding opportunities, and urgent announcements from the council through the newsletter.

3. Stronger Communities Team Internal Directory

Your details help our team identify and contact groups in the area. This allows us to provide targeted engagement and support for your organisation and residents you work with.

4. Sharing Information with the Knowsley Better Together Partnership

We may share your details with this partnership so they can contact you about funding, newsletters, and other opportunities. We may also use this information to reach out during local or national emergencies (such as floods or pandemics) and to identify groups for engagement.

What Personal Information do we collect?

In order for Knowsley Stronger Communities Team to offer support within Knowsley we may collect all, or some, of the following information from you:

The personal information we may ask for is:

  • Names (surname and forename).
  • Email address.
  • Phone Numbers (work contact number, personal contact number).
  • Work address.

Please beware if you are a sole trader and have personal information linked to your business as a sole trader will collect this information as part of the submission form. For example, your work address may be your home address, and we would collect this information as part of your submission. We may also collect information about the type of service you offer as a sole trader, including a description of the service, and information about your social media sites.

What allows you to use my information?

We are using your information because you have given us your consent. You can change your mind and withdraw your consent at any time. If you do, we will stop using your personal information.

Do I have to provide this information and what will happen if I don’t?

No, you don’t have to give us this information. If you choose not to, it may be harder for residents and partner organisations to find key information in one central place, which could also reduce signposting to relevant services. This could make it more difficult to share updates, engage with the community, and provide clear messages. It may also mean we can’t update organisations quickly about funding opportunities and borough-wide news.

How long will you keep this data for and why?

We will keep this data for as long as it is up-to-date and relevant. Every year, we reach out to check that the information is up-to-date for the Stronger Communities Internal Directory. For the online directory you will be contacted at 2 to 6-month intervals to ensure that the information is up-to-date. For the Stronger Communities newsletter, your email address and name will be kept until you unsubscribe or the email address is n unless you provide a personal email address this will be retained for 2 years where we will seek consent to retain your email address.

How will my information be stored?

If you consent to be a part of the online directory it will be store with Beebot or a commissioned alternative. If you consent to the stronger communities team internal data base this will be store on a Microsoft software.

Will this information be used to take automated decisions about me?

No

No

What rights do I have when it comes to my data?

Under the Data Protection Act (DPA) 2018/ UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), you have the following rights with regards to your personal data: -

  • The right to prevent automated decision making – you have the right to ask the council to stop using your data to make automated decisions about you or to stop profiling your behaviour (where applicable)
