Knowsley Council is responsible for Civil Parking Enforcement (CPE) in the borough.
This means that parking violations - such as parking on double yellow lines, grass verges or pavements, double parking or parking across dropped kerbs – are enforced by the council.
This helps to improve safety for pedestrians and drivers by preventing parked cars from obstructing roads and pavements.
It also helps to make better use of off-street parking locations and help to introduce new, more effective parking schemes for residents and businesses.
When parking your car, check traffic signs to be sure you are parking legally.
If you park where you shouldn’t, you risk receiving a Penalty Charge Notice of £50 or £70, reduced to £25 and £35 if paid within 14 days. The levels of penalty charges are set nationally. Take a look at the Guide to Parking Enforcement to find out more.
Knowsley Council will use the personal data it collects (including the vehicle registration) to issue and process a Penalty Charge Notice. To find out more about how we use your personal data, please see our Privacy Notice for further details.
Should you wish to appeal or make representations against your Penalty Charge Notice (PCN), you must do so in writing. Details of how and where to write to are on the back of your PCN. Read more about our Policy for the Enforcement and Cancellation of Penalty Charge Notices.
