Parking fine phishing scam warning
Knowsley residents are warned to be vigilant against phishing scam text messages asking for payment for a parking fine.
The text message from a random mobile number may claim a PCN (Parking Charge Notice) from Knowsley Council is due and that you will incur further charges if you do not pay within a certain timeframe. The message will contain payment links.
Knowsley Council will never contact people by text message in relation to a PCN. You should not respond to the text or click on any website links within it.
You can report scam websites to the National Cyber Security Centre and texts can be forwarded to 7726.
You can also report the scam to Action Fraud.
