Voting guide

Knowsley Borough Council elections are taking place on Thursday, 7 May 2026. This guide covers how to vote and the key dates.

Accessibility Passport and Support

We have produced an accessibility passport, which is available here, that can be used to assist anyone who requires support in order to enable them to vote.

If you require any further support or if you wish to request a guide to elections in a different language, please contact us using the details below.

To enable blind and partially sighted voters to mark a ballot paper independently, in secret, and with confidence, we have invested in a number of McGonagle Reader Audio Voting Systems.

Traditional ballot papers are visual and often difficult, if not impossible, for blind and partially sighted people to use without help.  The McGonagle Reader is an audio-tactile device that allows you to locate the correct place to mark your vote using a combination of sound and touch.

If you would like to use one of our McGonagle devices, please contact us on 0151 443 3604 or via elections@knowsley.gov.uk to let us know what station you will be at with an approximate time, and we can arrange for the device to be ready upon your arrival.
