Armed Forces Covenant

The Armed Forces Covenant is a voluntary statement of mutual support between a civilian community and its local Armed Forces Community. It encompasses the moral obligation between the Nation, the Government and the Armed Forces at the local level.

Knowsley Council and representatives from a range of partner agencies signed the Official Armed Forces Community Covenant in November 2015. This ceremony reaffirmed the commitment of the Knowsley area, which was initially established in 2012 through the borough’s Local Strategic Partnership, to develop agreed priorities for in-service and ex-service personnel, Veterans, and their families in the areas of health and well-being, education, employment, safer communities, and housing.

Available support for the Armed Forces community in Knowsley

Tom Harrison House (THH)

Tom Harrison House is a specialist addiction recovery centre, supporting veterans from across the UK and from all 3 services, as well as reservists, still-serving soldiers, and those in the emergency services.

There is also family support available to family members of those who access the service.

Veteran’s HQ

Veteran’s HQ is a free and accessible one-stop centre of support for ex armed forces personnel, reservists, and their families. We’re run by a team of trained Buddies supported by staff members.

Veteran’s HQ can provide information and advice, support for families, debt advice, employability support, health and wellbeing support, housing support, support for veterans in custody and any other general support and advice for those in need.
