Knowsley Council is proposing an active travel scheme on Finch Lane to encourage greater use of sustainable transport, such as walking and cycling. The scheme will also connect to the recently introduced facilities on Higher Road.
Key elements of the scheme
- Active travel improvements – provision of a safer route for cyclists and pedestrians, linking into the wider walking and cycling network.
- One-way system – to reduce the volume of vehicles travelling along the narrow section of Finch Lane. This element has already been consulted on, with no negative feedback received.
- Double yellow lines – proposed on both sides of Finch Lane, from the entrance to Everton’s Finch Farm Training Ground to the junction of Lower Road, to ensure there is no obstruction for vehicles and cyclists.
