If your plate expires on or before the 30th September and you are unable to book a suitable test through the MOT Booking system, you can obtain a standard MOT from any Knowsley garage only and upload the MOT Certificate, along with the other required documents, as part of your renewal application. The application should be submitted within 28 days of the MOT Certificate date, otherwise, the certificate will not be accepted and your application refused.
If your plate expires on or before the 30th September and you have already booked a test after your expiry date through the MOT Booking system, you can obtain a standard MOT from any Knowsley garage only. Once you have secured an external booking, please cancel your booking with us through the MOT booking system. This will ensure that you receive a refund for the test slot, and also free up the booking on the system.
Upload the MOT Certificate, along with the other required documents, as part of your renewal application. The application should be submitted within 28 days of the MOT Certificate date, otherwise, the certificate will not be accepted and your application refused.
For plates which expire after the 30th September, you should book your compliance test 90 days (3 months) in advance of your existing plate expiry for best availability. Book and pay for the earliest compliance test slot available, if earliest date is after your expiry. Once booked, you should continue to check the booking system regularly to see if any earlier tests are available.
Vehicle change applications are still required to only book a compliance test at the Councils testing facility. Any external MOTs for vehicle changes will not be accepted and application refused.
