Preparation for adulthood

As young people get older, they move from being supported by a children’s social work team to an adult’s social work team. Find out more about this transition here.

Advocacy

Advocacy means getting support from another person to help you express your views and wishes, and help you stand up for your rights. Someone who helps you in this way is called your advocate.

Advocacy can support you to:

  • Have your views and wishes heard
  • Make an important decision
  • Support you with things you may need help with, such as where you want to live or your care and support
  • Advocates will not provide support in relation to Money Matters

You can make a referral for an advocate online by visiting the n-compass website.
