Knowsley Council and representatives from a range of partner agencies signed the Official Armed Forces Community Covenant in November 2015. This ceremony was a re-affirmation of the commitment of the Knowsley area, which was originally established in 2012 through the borough’s Local Strategic Partnership to develop agreed priorities for in service and ex - service personnel, Veterans and their families across the areas of health and wellbeing, education, employment, safer communities and housing.

In addition to recognising the contribution and in many cases sacrifice, made on behalf of the country, Armed Forces Covenants are established to counter any disadvantage which in service and ex - service personnel, Veterans and their families may experience as a consequence of their Military connections. Besides developing corporate policy and practice which will actively facilitate the priority focus identified within the Armed Forces Covenant, the borough have also established the “Knowsley Veterans Hub”, an independent local delivery support project.
