Moved house? Let us know

Tell us if you are moving into Knowsley, out of Knowsley or within Knowsley.

We understand that moving house is already a stressful time but please do not forget to inform the council of your change of address no more than 14 days before or after you have moved; it could affect things like Housing Benefit, Council Tax Support or any other support you require.

It has never been easier to tell us that you are moving house – you can do this all online.

Before you start - check if your property is within the Knowsley Council area. Please note, if your address is not listed as you are moving into a new build property, the developer will be able to advise you.

Don’t forget – check the council tax band for your new address . Please note if you are moving into a new build property, your address may not have a property banding as this needs to be decided by the Valuation Office.

Moving into Knowsley

  • A phone number and e-mail address
  • The date you purchased the property or tenancy started
  • The actual date you moved in
  • Whether the property is furnished
  • The solicitor used in the sale or the new build developer

When we have completed the change of address you will receive a bill that shows the balance due and instalments.

Moving out of Knowsley

If you are moving out of Knowsley into another area, you will need:

  • A phone number and e-mail address
  • The date you sold the property or tenancy ended
  • The actual date you vacated
  • Whether the property has been left furnished or unfurnished
  • Name of new occupier, landlord or owner

When we have completed the change of address you will be issued a final bill which will advise of any outstanding balance and the date this needs to be paid. If the account is in any credit and you paid by direct debit this will be refunded directly into the bank the direct debit came from.
