Following the current Café provider Esposito’s initiating the termination of their lease of the building within Mill Dam Park in Kirkby, the Council are looking to consult with the community on their aspirations for future use, facilities and activities available at the building within Mill Dam Park.
Mill Dam Park is the Borough park for the Kirkby community and serves all areas of Kirkby in providing a range of facilities, including a large play area suitable for all ages, angling facilities, wetland habitats, woodlands, an informal football pitch and over 1.5km of paths.
The building at Mill Dam Park was built by Knowsley Council in 2021 utilising grant funding and developer contributions, following community engagement and consultation that showed the community wished to have public toilet facilities, café facilities and events and activities within Mill Dam Park.
The short questionnaire below is seeking community feedback on the future use and facilities provided by the building, as well as some optional generic questions around park usage that will help support any further park improvements should external funding become available in the future.
This consultation is live between 22nd December 2025 and 31st January. 2026 Following this period, the feedback will be collated, and the Council will consider options for the future use of the building moving forward.
