Information for sponsors

There is a wide range of information available for sponsors on the Homes for Ukraine Scheme, find out more using this guide.

Payments

Since 1 April 2025, all thank you payments are paid at the flat rate of £350 per month. For eligible sponsors/hosts only one monthly payment will be made per residential address, regardless of the number of guests being hosted. Sponsors/hosts must have passed the necessary property and safeguarding checks and signed and submitted the host declaration form. Sponsors/hosts are not eligible for the monthly payment if they charge rent to the guest.

Payments are made one month in arrears from the date of arrival of the guest. For example, if the guest arrives in the UK on 11 April, the first payment will cover 11 April – 10 May, and will be paid one month in arrears. Where guests arrive before 15th of the month, payment will be made on 15th day of the month; where guests arrive after 15th day of the month, payment will be made on the last day of the month. However, sponsors/hosts should allow around 3 working days for payments to reach their bank. Where the guest leaves the property part way through the payment period, a full payment will be made where the guest remained at the property for at least half of that payment period.

If a guest arrived in the UK on or after the 1st of October 2024 to live with a close family member, their host is not eligible for thank you payments.

Where the guest had already arrived in the UK before 1 October 2024, thank you payments would continue to be paid until the guest’s Home for Ukraine visa expired and they made an application to UPE. At that time, a new application for thank you payments would need to be made and where the guest is a close family member of the sponsor or host, this would make them ineligible to receive payment.
