Selling your food products abroad

If you want to sell your food products abroad, you may need a food export health certificate. Find out more about how to apply and the costs included here.

If you want to sell your food products abroad, you may need a food export health certificate from the country you are exporting to. Knowsley Council can issue these certificates for food manufactured in Knowsley.

To get a certificate, you must first contact the embassy or consulate of the country you are exporting to. They will tell you what details and format are required for the certificate.

We will not issue a certificate unless your food business is registered and meets our approval requirements. We may also need to carry out additional inspections to ensure that your business complies with any additional checks required by the country you are exporting to.

Cost

An Export Certificate costs £45

If an officer needs to visit then additional charges may apply.
