The area designated by the Boundary Commission which is represented by a Member of Parliament (MP) in the House of Commons. This cannot be changed by the review.
Every five years we are required to carry out a review of our Polling Districts, Polling Places and Polling Stations. We will begin the next review on 31 July 2024.
The review
The review is to ensure the polling districts and polling places in Knowsley suit the needs of voters, and includes:
- polling district boundaries within each ward in the borough
- location of the polling places and stations in each polling district
- accessibility of each polling station

Definition of terms
Parliamentary Constituency
Wards
Knowsley Borough is divided into 15 electoral areas known as Wards which are represented by Borough Councillors. Ward boundaries cannot be changed by this review.
Polling Districts
A polling district is the geographical area which separates the ward into smaller parts.
Polling Places
A polling place is the building or area within a polling district, in which the polling station is located.
Polling Station
A polling station is the room or area in which the voting takes place.
