Following recent boundary changes, from the date of this Parliamentary election residents across Knowsley will be represented by four MP's.
The four constituencies are:
- Knowsley
- Liverpool West Derby
- St Helens South and Whiston
- Widnes and Halewood
Standing as a candidate
If you would like to stand as a candidate for the Parliamentary Election you must submit a nomination form and pay a deposit of £500 between 10am on Tuesday 4 June and 4pm on Friday 7 June 2024.

The table below provides contact information for each of the four constituencies – depending on which constituency you wish to be a candidate in, you will need to contact the relevant authority to make an appointment in order to deliver your nomination papers and pay your deposit in advance of the 7 June deadline.

How to vote in the General Election
If you are not already registered to vote, the deadline to register is midnight on Tuesday 18 June 2024, you can register online or by contacting our Elections Team via email elections@knowsley.gov.uk or on 0151 443 2222.
Voting at the Polling Station
If you are voting at the polling station the law now requires you to provide an accepted form of photo ID before being provided with your ballot paper.
Acceptable Photo ID
All acceptable forms of Photo ID can be found at on the Electoral Commission website.
Free voter ID
If you do not have an acceptable form of Photo ID you can apply for a free voter ID to enable you to vote, the deadline to apply for the Parliamentary election is Wednesday 26 June 2024 at 5pm.
Postal vote
You can now apply for a postal vote online, the deadline to apply for a postal vote for this election is 5pm on Wednesday 19 June 2024.
Proxy vote
We would recommend that any elector who is going on holiday from Saturday 22 June 2024 and will not return before Thursday 4 July 2024, make an application to appoint another person as a proxy to vote on their behalf.
The deadline to make a proxy application is 5pm on Wednesday 26 June 2024. The person appointed as a proxy, must be registered to vote and they will need to show their Photo ID before they are issued with a ballot paper, the proxy not the electors.
Voting if you live outside of the UK
If you live outside the UK, you can register to vote as an overseas elector.
