Traffic calming scheme, Greystone Road

Find out about the proposed Traffic calming scheme at Greystone Road and have your say here

Following comments received from the informal consultation carried out in February, in relation to traffic calming measures at Greystone Road, some amendments have been made.

The proposals would include installing a series of speed tables and road humps along Greystone Road between Milton Avenue and the Greystone footbridge. In addition to this, uncontrolled crossing points will be installed at various points along Greystone Road as well as on Willoughby Road adjacent to Malvern Primary School to improve pedestrian safety and accessibility to encourage active travel, as well as parking bay markings on the existing layby on Penrose Avenue East to be introduced.

The below plan shows the extent of the proposed works for your information.

You may also notice works being carried out in the coming weeks around the Greystone footbridge to improve pedestrian and cyclist safety by installing strategically placed guardrail to limit accessibility and reduce speed of scrambler bikes making use of the bridge as a cut-through.

The scheme will improve pedestrian and cyclist accessibility to the nearby shopping parade and school, as well as encouraging walking or cycling which can have a positive impact on improving health and tackling obesity, improving accessibility, tackling congestion, reducing carbon emissions and improving the local environment.

Your views on the proposals are important to us, therefore I should be grateful if you would provide any formal feedback you have by Friday 20 June 2025. All the information provided will be treated confidentially and will only be utilised by the Council to evaluate the proposals. In addition a notice will be posted on site and in the local newspaper.
