Following the receipt of a number of enquiries, Knowsley Council are proposing works which will enable a safe, controlled crossing point for pedestrians on Cumber Lane, Whiston.

Recent pedestrian and traffic surveys show a high number of pedestrians crossing Cumber Lane near the junction with Milton Avenue. The majority of those crossing are students heading to and coming from St Edmund Arrowsmith Catholic Academy. It is proposed that a Signalised Puffin Crossing Facility is to be installed on Cumber Lane close to the school, as per the below plan.
