Over a prolonged period of time the Council has received enquiries regarding difficulties that pedestrians experience in crossing Waterpark Drive, specifically outside St. Brigid’s Catholic Primary School near its junction with Leach Croft.
After undertaking traffic and pedestrian surveys it is proposed that a signalised crossing is introduced on Waterpark Drive. The proposed signalised crossing would allow pedestrians and cyclists to cross the road in a safer manner.
It is also proposed that the footway be widened to accommodate the cycleway to form a part of wider active travel improvement scheme. In addition, it is proposed that a new path leading across to the car park from the crossing point is constructed.
The extent of the proposed works can be viewed on the below site plan.
