In accordance with the Licensing Act 2003, Knowsley Council is currently reviewing its Statement of Licensing Policy which determines the way in which licensing decisions are made and invites you to take part in the consultation process.
The current Statement of Licensing Policy was approved by the Council on 9 December 2020 and came into effect on 4 January 2021 however this policy must be reviewed and updated every 5 years, hence the need for it to be reviewed during 2025.
Your views are important in helping the Council ensure the policy reflects the needs and priorities of our local community and promotes responsible licensing, consistent with the four licensable objectives, which are:
- The Prevention of Crime and Disorder
- The Prevention of Public Nuisance
- Public Safety; and
- The Protection of Children from Harm.
We welcome feedback from residents, businesses, licence holders and other stakeholders, and invite you to take this opportunity to review the draft policy and share your comments or suggestions by the 31 August 2025 via the following form.
