A key element of this project is the introduction of pedestrian access at a location anticipated to see increased active travel usage following the completion of the eastern section of the Halewood development.

Additionally, the scheme includes the installation of pedestrian and cycle crossing facilities. These enhancements will significantly improve safety and accessibility for pedestrians, cyclists, and disabled users.

The project will also deliver safe, segregated cycling infrastructure in line with the latest design standards. A raised table will be introduced at side roads to establish priority and provide a continuous, safe route for both pedestrians and cyclists. The proposed bus stop bypass arrangement opposite Broom Way is designed to
safely manage boarding and alighting interactions between the new bus stop and the adjacent cycle path, in accordance with the latest design standards.

These schemes are divided into 5 phases, incorporating works from Phase 3 and 4 between Leather’s Lane and Blackburne Drive. The planned improvements include road upgrades, the upgrade of existing signalised junction and the development of a new segregated cycle path along Higher Road.

A location plan showing the extent of the proposed works can be viewed below.
