Key Services and Emergency Contacts

You can contact a range of services across the council during office hours as well as out of hours.

Getting in touch

The best way to contact the council is by using the online services available.

Access to these services is available online 24/7, there are no queues, and it’s free.

If you need access to a computer or Wi-Fi, you can visit your local library and use our scan stations to provide evidence for council tax, benefits and blue badges.

If you can’t find what you’re looking for online and wish to speak to someone on the phone, you can find the council’s key service contacts below. Lines are open Monday to Friday from 9am to 4:45pm. We are not open on bank holidays.

For customers who require a face-to-face enquiry, an appointment can be made, and you will be seen in a local library. Please use our online chat service or call 0151 489 6000 and ask our advisors for more information.

To make a payment, call our 24-hour payment line (Accepting payments for Council Tax, Business Rates, Sundry Debts, Overpaid Housing Benefits & Fixed Penalty Notices) at 0151 443 4476.

Alternatively, make an online payment.
