If you want to use a vehicle as a Taxi/Private Hire, you must have a driver's badge before applying for a vehicle licence or booking an MOT. This will help you avoid extra costs.
Please do not create a “My Account”. Badge and plate applications are not managed through the My Account portal.
Please be aware that Knowsley Council’s Licensing Service will remain open until the end of business on 23 December 2025. The service will then close to the public from 24 December 2025 and reopen on 5 January 2026, including the Badge & Plate Collection service at Stretton Way.
If you are still needing to collect anything from Licensing, we would advise for you to do so between now and the 23rd.
Please note that the Council cannot guarantee that any application received after Friday 12 Dec 25 will be processed before this closure. In any case we would always recommend submitting your documentation at least 2 working days before the date of your vehicle test.
