If your bin is missed, you need to report it after 3pm on your collection day, within 48 hours of your collection window. Anything after 48 hours can not be reported.
We cannot collect your bin if
- The bin is too heavy
- It contains the wrong items
- It’s overfull
- The lid is raised
- It wasn’t put out by 7am on your collection day
- It wasn’t placed at the kerbside or your usual bin collection point
If our crew notices an issue, they may leave a sticker on your bin to remind you to check and sort your waste correctly.
Other reasons your bin wasn't collected
There can be a number of reasons why your bin wasn't collected, including:
- Blocked access
- Vehicle breakdown
- Adverse weather conditions
- Unforeseen circumstances.

Please view missed collections we are aware of where bin collections have been missed. We aim to collect these bins within 48 hours; however this may be longer due to unforeseen circumstances.
We update the missed streets list hourly during every collection day, so please check the list, before reporting a missed bin.
If your street is listed, you do not need to report a missed bin. Please leave your bin at your usual bin collection point.
What to do if your bin is too heavy or contains the wrong items
Please remove any heavy or incorrect items from your bin to ensure that it is collected. Remember, you can also take the waste yourself to your nearest Household Waste Recycling Centre in Knowsley.

What happens next?
Once you've submitted your missed bin request online, you will receive a submission message and a confirmation email of your report.
