About admission policies
Many Knowsley schools are oversubscribed and may not have enough places for all applicants. Knowsley residents are advised to list all of their preferred schools, including local schools and those for which their child has a high priority. If the applicant is not offered a place at any of their preferred schools, the local authority will make an alternative offer, which could be at a school outside of their local area.
If a school receives more applications than places available, there are rules about how the places will be allocated. It is important to understand these rules so you can make informed decisions when listing your preferred schools.
Each school in Knowsley has its own admission arrangements and oversubscription criteria for the 2024/25 school year. You can find more information on this here.
