Uncontrolled pedestrian crossing at Court Hey Avenue and Childwall Lane, Roby

Find out about the proposed uncontrolled pedestrian crossing at Court Hey Avenue and Childwall Lane, Roby and how to have your say here.

Details of proposal

Over a number of years, the council has received enquiries regarding road safety on Court Hey Avenue and Childwall Lane adjacent to the railway overbridge.

Following site investigations, it has been observed that the safety concerns were related to speeding vehicles on approach to the overbridge.

It is therefore proposed that uncontrolled pedestrian crossing points in addition to speed calming measures would create a safer environment for pedestrians crossing at these points.

Location

It is proposed to install uncontrolled pedestrian crossings at the following locations;

  • Uncontrolled Pedestrian Crossing – From a point 7m north of the centreline of the junction between Childwall Lane and Malvern Avenue for a distance of 1.8m in a northerly direction.
  • Uncontrolled Pedestrian Crossing – From a point point 130m south of the centreline of the junction between Childwall Lane and Malvern Avenue for a distance of 1.8m in a southerly direction.
