Knowsley is well served by train, with stations located in Halewood, Huyton, Kirkby, Prescot, Roby and Whiston.

A new £80m station extends the Merseyrail network, which previously terminated at Kirkby, to a new location of Headbolt Lane. This has improved transport links for the Northwood and Tower Hill areas of Kirkby as well as for Knowsley Business Park.
