Recycling centres

The two Household Waste Recycling Centres in Knowsley are provided by Merseyside Recycling & Waste Authority and accept a range of general household and bulky waste materials for recycling.

The Household Waste Recycling Centres are located in Huyton and Kirkby - location and contact details can be found at the bottom of this page.

Vans and trailers

An appointment system is in place at all Household Waste Recycling Centres if you are using a commercial-type vehicle such as a van, or a trailer sized between 2 and 3 metres (external box dimensions).

Residents using a van of any size or a large trailer are allowed a maximum of 12 visits per year to recycle and dispose of household waste, including green and garden waste.

You do not need to book an appointment if using a standard car unless you are towing a trailer sized between 2 and 3 metres.

Asbestos disposal

Householders can dispose of cement bonded asbestos products at the the Huyton recycling centre, located on Wilson Road, L36 6AD, by appointment only.
