Who will own my data once I submit it?

Knowsley Metropolitan Borough Council.

Why do you need my information?

We are collecting this information to inform the Knowsley 2030 Strategy. This strategy is a long-term plan for how the borough will operate between 2020 and 2030. We need to collect your views and opinions on the borough now and in the future and these will be used to help to shape the plan for the Borough in 2030. Your information will be used to inform this plan broadly, but some of your information may be quoted in the forthcoming Knowsley 2030 reports.

What allows you to use my information?

We will only use your information with your permission, which you can give using the consent form provided. You have the right to withdraw this consent at any time in the information gathering process. You have the right to withdraw your consent without negative consequence. The information you have provided will be destroyed if you withdraw your consent.

Who will my information be shared with?

A pseudonym will be provided, where relevant, for this information. This information will be shared within the council during analysis and report writing stages of the project. This information will also be shared with other partners across the Borough such as, Health Partners, Housing Providers, Police and Fire Services, Children’s Services, Skills and Employment Services and Community and Voluntary Services.

This information may be shared in meetings and publications intended for the council and the partners. This information may be contained in a report which will be published on the Council website and available to the public.

Do I have to provide this information and what will happen if I don’t?

There is no obligation to take part in this project, nor share your data. You may withdraw your information at any time and your information will be destroyed on request. There are no consequences for refusing to share your information in this project.

How long will you keep this data for and why?

The information will be stored for the duration of the Knowsley 2030 project, until September 2020. This is to allow for the full analysis of the data and for this information to be used to inform this piece of work and to publish the reports.

How will my information be stored?

The information will be stored on a Knowsley MBC electronic system, on a secure network drive, which is password protected.

Will this information be used to take automated decisions about me?

Will my data be transferred abroad?

What rights do I have when it comes to my data?

Under the General Data Protection Regulation, you have the following rights with regard to your personal data: -

  • The right to subject access – you have the right to see a copy of the personal data that the council holds about you and find out what it is used for
  • The right to rectification – you have the right to ask the council to correct or remove any inaccurate data that we hold about you
  • The right to erasure (right to be forgotten) you have the right to ask the council to remove data that we hold about you
  • The right to restriction – you have the right to ask for your information to be restricted (locked down) on council systems
  • The right to data portability – you have the right to ask for your data to be transferred back to you or to a new provider at your request
  • The right to object – you have the right to ask the council to stop using your personal data or to stop sending you marketing information, or complain about how your data is used
  • The right to prevent automated decision making – you have the right to ask the council to stop using your data to make automated decisions about you or to stop profiling your behaviour. (where applicable)
