Find out about the application for fuel vouchers from the Fuel Bank Foundation privacy notice

Who will own my data once I submit it?

Knowsley Council and the Fuel Bank Foundation will jointly own the data.  The Fuel Bank Foundation are a charitable incorporated organisation registered in England and Wales under charity number 1175049, and in Scotland under charity number SCO48330 and whose registered office is at Room 10, Wombourne Civic Centre, Gravel Hill, Wombourne, Staffs WV5 9HA.

Why do you need my information?

The information is needed to request a fuel voucher for your household.  We ask for your personal details and contact details to allow the voucher to be sent directly to you. The charity who run the scheme (Fuel Bank Foundation) ask that we tell them the name of your energy supplier so they can see whether any energy suppliers have more customers who are struggling with fuel than others.  We ask how many adults and children are in the property as the funding used to provide the vouchers asks the Council to tell them how many vouchers were issued to households with children living in them.

What allows you to use my information?

Section 31 of the Local Government Act provides the legal power for this information to be shared.  The information can only be shared with your consent and you will be asked to give your consent at the same time as you are asked to provide the information we share with the Fuel Bank Foundation (above). If you withdraw your consent we will cancel the voucher request.

Who will my information be shared with?

This information will only be shared with the Fuel Bank Foundation.

Do I have to provide this information and what will happen if I don’t?

No, you do not have to provide this information.  If you do not provide it the Fuel Bank Foundation will not be able to provide you with a fuel voucher to top up your prepayment meter.  You will be asked to provide consent for your data to be shared when an application is made for a fuel voucher for you.

How long will you keep this data for and why?

The data is kept for 2 years.

How will my information be stored?

The data is stored by the Fuel Bank Foundation in a password protected file. All personal data will be deleted after 2 years. No data is stored on the app used to make the application.

Will this information be used to take automated decisions about me?

No, this information will only be used by the Fuel Bank Foundation to process a fuel voucher and send it to you (by the method you have chosen, for example by text message, letter or email).

Will my data be transferred abroad and why?
