Green space volunteering

Find out how you can make a difference in your local park or green space and how to apply.

Knowsley is home to some of the best open spaces on Merseyside. With a variety of formal parks, gardens, woodlands, natural spaces, sports areas and playgrounds, as well as numerous Green Flag award-winning sites, there’s something for everyone.

Volunteering is a great way of making a difference in the green spaces you love. It provides an opportunity to say ‘I did that’ and make Knowsley’s green and open spaces better for the people who visit and the wildlife that live there.

There are lots of reasons to volunteer in our green spaces. You will be giving something back to your community, developing new skills, building on existing experience and knowledge, as well as meeting like-minded people and improving your health.

Volunteering opportunities include but are not limited to, practical conservation work, wildlife surveying, help with guided walks and school visits.

If you’re interested in getting involved, please download a copy of our Green Space Volunteer Expression of Interest form, fill it in and send it back via email.
