Help with childcare costs
We know from our Offer consultation that the cost of childcare can be a real challenge for many families in the borough. Especially those who may have more than one child under school age.
This is an issue being experienced across the UK and here in Knowsley we are continuing to lobby the Government to address the issues families are facing when it comes to balancing their household budget whilst continuing to work and access childcare.
Free childcare places for 2 year olds
If your child is approaching their second birthday, they may be eligible for a free part-time place in a high quality childcare setting (nursery or childminder) from the term following their 2nd birthday. Eligibility is dependent on your individual circumstances. Further information is available here.
30 hours of free childcare for 3 and 4 year olds
If your child is, or will soon be 3 to 4 years old, you could be eligible for up to 30 hours of FREE childcare per week with an approved provider for 38 weeks of the year (school term time).
