Knowsley Community Advisory Group

The Knowsley Community Advisory Group (CAG) is a group of individuals who live and / or work in the Borough, represent a community or business group and/or have a specific interest in working with Merseyside Police and other partners.

This group comes together to discuss local issues which are important to them, and their community, often with the aim of improving the local environment and quality of life.

Typically, the CAG comes together every three months with in-person and online attendance available.

The Knowsley CAG has a number of objectives:

  1. To improve confidence in Merseyside Police and public perceptions by gaining and maintaining the trust of our communities.
  2. Enable the police to develop a better understanding of communities and their needs, risks, and threats.
  3. Provide an ongoing two-way dialogue between the police and the public.
  4. Encourage a community voice and consultation to influence force wide and local policing plans and priorities.
  5. Explore opportunities to develop and continually improve how we respond, engage and learn to ensure we engage and deliver a service which meets the needs of the community.
  6. Encourage citizen participation within policing that establishes an effective and growing network of volunteers to support delivery of Policing plans.
  7. Understand communities through community engagement to support the attraction, recruitment and retention of underrepresented groups.

The Knowsley CAG is always looking to recruit new members to ensure the group is as representative as possible.
