Graffiti is classed as anything that is written, scratched, painted, or sprayed on the surface of any property. It ranges from the simple act of tagging a location with initials through to elaborate paintings.
Graffiti is removed using various methods, such as jet washing, painting out, and using chemicals.
We cannot remove graffiti from private households and other private property without the owner's permission.
What we consider to be offensive graffiti
- Graffiti using racist or inflammatory words/images.
- Graffiti is used as a form of attack against an individual or group of people.
- Graffiti containing swear words.
- Graffiti containing sexually explicit/obscene words or images.

How soon will we remove graffiti
We will respond to reports of racist or offensive graffiti within one working day and non-offensive within five working days.
