Pests

Knowsley Pest Control Service offers pest control treatments for homes and businesses, including rat extermination. Find out more about the different types of pests and how to treat them.

Other wildlife

There are other forms of wildlife that may cause problems at your property, but they are protected by law:

We do not deal with foxes, birds, or bees, but we can offer advice on how to keep them away from your property. If you have solar panels and birds are nesting on your roof, please contact your installer for help and advice.

Bees

We no longer offer a bee treatment service unless they are posing a risk to the public. However, if you are concerned about a bee problem, please contact us and we will discuss this with you. You can also refer to the British Beekeepers Association or the Bumblebee Conservation Trust for help.

How to tell the difference between wasps and bees

It is important to be able to identify honey bees, bumblebees, and wasps correctly. We do not deal with bees, but we do treat wasps.

Honey bee

Honey bees are similar in size to wasps, but they are darker in colour with less bright stripes. They have a furry body and yellow pollen sacs on their back legs. Honey bees typically nest in trees, sheds, lofts, and cavity walls. They should not be killed unless they pose a public safety risk.

If you have a honey bee swarm, please contact a local beekeeper.

Bumblebee

Bumblebees can be up to 30 millimetres long and are round and furry. They should not be killed unless they pose a public safety risk.

Wasp

Wasps are similar in size to honey bees, but they have bright yellow and black stripes. We treat wasps. Please note that we will not refund your money if we attend to treat wasps and they are found to be bees.
