Appeals process
If your bus pass application is refused, you can ask for a review of the decision. This is called an appeal. To appeal, you need to show that there are special reasons why your child should get a bus pass.
You will be told how to appeal when you apply for a bus pass. You can also write to the council at the address below to ask for a review. You will need to explain why you think your child should get a bus pass and send proof to support your claim. This could be a letter from your social worker, doctor, police, school, or housing officer.
Here are some tips for appealing a bus pass refusal
- Be clear and concise in your letter. Explain why you think your child should get a bus pass and send any proof to support your claim.
- Be honest and truthful in your letter. Do not make up or exaggerate anything.
- Be respectful to the people who will review your appeal. Do not use any bad language.
- Be patient. It may take some time for your appeal to be reviewed.
