School Admission Arrangements 2019/20

The local authority and the governors of schools are currently considering the admission arrangements for pupils entering nursery classes, reception classes, Year 7 and Year 12 in September 2019. This may seem early, but it is to allow time for discussion on the final version. Information booklets are published in September 2018 with the final policies.

Consultation on the proposed policies and admission numbers will start on 20 December 2017 and closes on 31 January 2018.

Parents/carers of school-age children and relevant pre-schoolers and community groups who may have an interest are invited to submit their views on the proposals.

These documents are also available to view on request from the office of Knowsley Education Improvement Team (admissions) – the address can be found at the bottom of this page.

In addition, some voluntary aided primary and secondary schools (Catholic, Church of England, joint faith schools) and Lord Derby Academy are consulting on their own individual policies, these should be available on the individual school website and by request from the individual school. Where these have been made available to the authority they can be viewed on this page.

(N.B. some schools will not be consulting as they are not proposing to make any changes to their policy from the current year and had no challenges to this policy when they did consult. The current policy is printed in the 2018-2019 admission booklets and is also available directly from the individual school.)

Also available to view on this webpage are the admission schemes for the annual allocation of reception class places and transfer from primary to secondary school for 2019/20. These schemes give the practical arrangements – dates to apply by, how allocations are undertaken etc.
