Consultation on draft Environmental Permit for PTV KP Limited

Following an application from PTV KP Limited to operate a Small Waste Incineration Plant (SWIP) at Penrhyn Road, Kirkby, a period of consultation will now take place to allow members of the public to review a draft permit for its operation.

Knowsley Council has produced the draft Environmental Permit, as issued to PTV KP Limited, after accepting the application and receiving all the relevant information.

The draft permit has been written in accordance with the Environmental Permitting (England and Wales) Regulations 2016, the Industrial Emissions Directive (2010/75/EU) and relevant guidance, including scrutiny and support by the Local Authority Unit, to enable the facility to operate whilst mitigating any impact on the local environment.

Compliance with the conditions of the permit will be assessed at regular intervals, and the council will work in partnership with PTV KP Limited to ensure that the facility operates efficiently and effectively.

This consultation gives you the opportunity to review the draft permit and provide written comments on it should you wish.
The consultation period will last four weeks, starting from Wednesday 2 September 2020, with the last date for comments being 30 September 2020.
