If you are organising a public event in Knowsley, whether large or small, we can provide expert advice to make sure it runs smoothly.
It is crucial that your event is managed responsibly to protect the safety and wellbeing of the public who attend and employees and contractors involved in staging the event.
The Knowsley Events and Venues Safety Advisory Group is your first point of contact when organising an event, whether it is being held on council-owned land, privately-owned land or the public highway.
The group is made up of representatives from Knowsley Council’s Environmental Health, Trading Standards, Licensing and Emergency Planning teams, along with Merseyside Police, Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service and North West Ambulance Service.
It is not the group’s role to plan your event for you, but it will review your plans and offer advice and suggestions where appropriate.
We recommend planning your event in good time. Depending on the scale of the event, this could be up to six months in advance or longer in the case of very large events.
We have developed a ‘Knowsley Event Safety Plan' (see further guidance below) to aid event organisers in planning safe and exciting events. By using this document as a guide, organisers can ensure that all safety aspects have been considered.
Please register your event well in advance by completing and returning the notification form to [email protected] and [email protected]
Street parties
If you would like to apply to close your street for a street party, such as for the Queen's Jubilee, please see our street parties section.
