Issue 1 – An update on Education Health and Care Plans, findings from the LGA Peer Review of our SEND support and provision, the Local Offer website, Code of Practice on parent / carer forums, our statutory responsibilities and a case study highlighting how SEND support is impacting on local residents.

Issue 2 – Launch of the SEND Strategy 2018-2021, achievements from the Knowsley Supported Internship Programme (supporting residents with a learning disability and / or difficulty into work), the THRIVE model, our performance against Education Health and Care Plans, update on the Emotional Wellbeing Programme for children and young people 2018-2019, how services are being co-produced with parents and carers and feedback from parents and carers.

Issue 3 – A summary of a multi-agency event, including representatives from health, education and social care, alongside young people receiving SEND support and parents and carers, which took place on Friday, 13 July 2018.  The event covered the drivers for SEND provision and support, the local picture, progress we have made since 2017, current priorities, hearing from the experiences of a young person with SEND requirements alongside parents and carers too and details about local area inspections.


Special Edition - Local Offer - A short guide on what help and support is available from Knowsley's Local Offer.



Issue 4 - An update on issues raised by parents / carers of children and young people with Special Educational Needs and / or Disabilities (SEND) and what services (health, education and care) have / will do with these issues.  It also includes an update on the multi-agency Shield team, established to address criminal and sexual exploitation issues as well as an update on the Youth Offending Service, a fun-filled family fun day which took place recently along with an update on the Local Offer website – what it is and how to access it.

Issue 5 - The Department for Education has published data about SEND for every local area and this edition provides a summary of Knowsley’s figures, highlights from a preparing to adulthood workshop, facts about the Neurodevelopmental Assessment Service and how to access out of school activities.
