On 19 July 2013, the Knowsley Local Plan Core Strategy was submitted to national government. Following this, the Secretary of State has appointed a Planning Inspector to undertake an Examination in Public into the soundness and legal compliance of the Core Strategy.
Adoption of the Knowsley Local Plan Core Strategy
On 6 January 2016, Knowsley Council adopted the Knowsley Local Plan Core Strategy. Further information about the adoption version is available here.

The Examination Library is available to view online and documents can be downloaded. The documents are also available to view in hardcopy at the Huyton Municipal Buildings (Archway Road, Huyton, Liverpool L36 9YU). The Examination Library includes all Supporting and Evidence Base documents.
Programme Officer
The council has appointed a Programme Officer to work with the appointed Planning Inspector to undertake the Examination in Public. The Programme Officer organises the administration of the examination and acts as a liaison between the Inspector, the Council and examination participants, and should be the first point of contact for any queries regarding the examination.
